Railfanning on the Atlantic Coast Line, South Carolina

I actually added an article to rtprailfan.com about my recent trip down the Atlantic Coast Line in South Carolina.  This trip started in Dillon, SC and finished in Savannah, GA.  I actually only hit a few spots along the way.  I based my trip on the Frograil tour of the CSX line.  It was a good trip, but it was too much distance to cover in such a short time.  I only spent about 10 minutes or less at each railfan location.  Anyways, check it out on the rtprailfan.com site.

RTP Railfan Radio back up….

…hopefully for a while.  I ended up getting another used computer to replace my 9 year old laptop and it was working last night and appears to be working still this morning.  The address is the same as the earlier post.  I still need to update on the rtprailfan.com page.

RTP Railfan Radio down for a while…

Looks like the laptop hard drive crashed so I have to decide whether to get a new (old) laptop or just try to repair my current one.  The one I have is 9 years old so maybe I should get something a little newer….

Railfan stream still not working….

Well, I have narrowed the stream issues down to the laptop.  I connected my old router yesterday and the stream still went offline and it was cloudy and raining so I don’t think its a temperature issue.  Possibly the wireless card is messed up or the laptop is messed up.  I ordered a $10 wireless card so I hope that fixes it, maybe later this week it will be working again.  If it is the laptop that will be a problem because I don’t have a backup computer for the stream….

Old Router Back

We will try and experiment.  About 3 months ago I installed a new NetGear N750 router so I could get faster wireless in the house.  It has been nothing but a pain since I installed it.  I think its the cause for my railfan stream to keep going down but I’m not sure.  I thought it was the heat but I had the stream up today and its been raining, not hot, and it went out again.  So I’ve taken the router out of the equation, lets see if it works for a while now.  If so, I’m not sure what I will do with the new router….

Make sure you update the web address of the new stream….
